Limbo (detail)

This work investigates our lives as a spectacle of balance: one that pits reason against instinct and control against chaos. The constant maneuvering we do in order to deal with these clashes are as interesting as the clashes themselves. Simple or convoluted, we develop systems (with varying degrees of success) to live with these contradictions. Technically, their variations would be impossible to convey without the element of time, the option of change, and the inclusion of chaos. So, the metaphors are mechanized ‹ based on the principle of opposites. The motor serves as the basis of order while any number of forces cause sporadic chaos in motion.
